Brewing Techniques for Green Tea

If you’re new to the tea world, you may or may not be familiar with the different varieties of teas. In fact, you might still be under the impression that the entire world of tea is encompassed by bags of Lipton’s black tea. But that actually couldn’t be further from the truth. There are actually varieties ranging from green to red to white tea. And all of these have their own characteristics, health benefits, and flavors.
In particular, green tea has become a very popular choice among health conscious individuals. Having a large number of antioxidants, green tea is said to be one of the healthier drink options available. For optimal brewing, don’t bring the water entirely to a boil. Rather, get the water to just below, and the taste of the tea will be enhanced all the more. Also, don’t brew it for longer than two to three minutes. While the water won’t appear very dark, it will be extremely flavorful. Brewing too long, on the other hand, will result in a more bitter tasting tea. Always try the tea plain at first and then sweeten to taste.
