High Security Tamper Resistant Coffee Urn

One might wonder why anyone would need a highly secure coffee urn, but there is a need. This fully 304 18-8 stainless steel coffee urn is easy to clean and has no exposed fasteners when in service and all components are kept under lock and key. It is truly an application specific item.  Daily and weekly cleaning is required for this urn for this urn; the complete set of directions comes with the purchase of the urn.

The Grindmaster American Metal Works tamper resistant high volume urn is a large capacity, high-speed, coffee brewing and holding urn. The double walled body has insulation all the way around the two ten gallon liners in the water tank. This insulation keeps the heat in, but also protects the brewer from potential burns. The two independent brewing heads have there own start and stop button. Each tank also contains a Teflon coated spray arms that is easier to clean, keep the arms from gathering lime deposits thus creating a longer life for this part of the urn. To prevent lime buildup on the liner when there is a high lime content in the water get an inline filter. The water is pumped from the tank into the spray arms over the coffee grounds. This process takes 12½ minutes to fill the 10 gallon liner full. If you want just hot water be sure to lower the amount of water or it will over flow. This process is a fully automatic brew cycle with automatic air agitation, adjustable timer, by-pass, sprayover rate and thermostat. Sensors now indicate the amount of coffee in the liner without a gauge glass. The urn has an automatic refill, low-water water and heater cutoff line for this urn that requires a 3/8″ OD copper connection. Water coming into the urn at 50°F will produce 40 gallons per hour.     

The hinged locking covers hold the stainless steel mesh permanent filters into place. These filters need to be taken out, emptied, rinsed out and replaced after each batch of coffee is made. If no more coffee is going to be made the empty filter needs to be replaced. Permanent filters are a healthy, cost effective measure that reduces waste as no paper filters are needed.

There are not any parts that are removable by hand, including the three faucets that offer coffee on each side and hot water in the middle, nor are there any exposed fasteners when this urn is brewing. Even the amount of screws on the exterior are kept to a minimum; all other screws are one way. All handles are self-closing handles. The padlocked covers prohibit access to controls and prevent tampering with the water supply. The drain handle is located inside the control enclosure and needed clamps for tubing come with the urn.  

Basically, this urn is a high quality brewing system that is the same quality as a standard urn. However, this application specific urn is designed for high security prisons. It is designed to sit securely on a counter with four flanged feet that can be fastened into the counter to keep this urn from tipping or moving. All other parts are padlocked or made secure to keep this urn working to its best for a long time. This urn weighs 275 pounds
